Driving Tour - Rolling Hills & Red Shores

To truly appreciate the uniqueness of the South Shore, you need to get off the main highway and drive down our back roads. This is where you’ll experience the true heart and soul of the South Shore. Featuring stunning sandstone cliffs, the island’s highest hills, warm red sand tidal beaches and awe-inspiring unspoiled scenery. Cornwall makes a good starting point however you can join or exit anywhere along the route outlined below.

Driving Tour - History & Heritage

This 74 km drive winds through the heart of the Island’s South Shore where the gentle hills afford breathtaking views of the Northumberland Strait and the famous red sand cliffs. Walking Trails

We encourage our visitors to get out of their vehicle and touch nature by getting closer to some of the South Shore hidden treasures, by taking a stroll over hills and down one of our red clay lanes where gentle breezes rustle through the trees. If you’re looking for a little solitude, our red clay lanes offer a chance for quiet sanctuary and rejuvenation of your soul.

Really Big Bridge!

Only in the South Shore!!! 7 Best Views of Confederation Bridge
Overlooking the full expanse of the Northumberland Straight, PEI’s Confederation Bridge brings you to the green fields and red roads of the island. Built in 1997 its graceful arch, those trademark cement pilings, stand sentinel across the clean breezy water. It has become one of PEI’s most known icons. Most people are surprised to learn it is the longest bridge in the world over water that freezes which posed unique engineering challenges. To view the bridge in all its majesty we have selected six different sites.
