1st Peel Off Competition held at Summerside Lobster Carnival
Schedule of Events!
Guiness Book of World Records (5pm - 6pm) - Through out the Summer Fairs and Exhibitions across the Island will qualify and send their fastest Potato Peeler to join the elite team of 5 that will try to break the Guinness Book of World Records. Current record of 472 kilos of Potato's in 45 minutes is held by a team in Idaho. Our Peel off Dates are as follows: Saturday, July 31 at the Crapaud Exhibition at 3:30pm. Thursday, August 19 Old Home Week 1:30pm. Wednesday August 25, at 3pm at the Kensington Harvest Festival and Friday September 3 at 12:30pm at Ocean 100 & K-Rock Studios. A Maximum of 15 contestants will be chosen. All contestants must be over 18 years of age, and available for the finals on September 10 in Victoria-by-the-Sea. Red Sands Arts and Artisan Reception (6pm - 7:30pm) - Enjoy and evening where artists & Artisans will display their work in a gallery studio setting. Each artist will be present to discuss their work with everyone and pieces will be for sale. Meet your family and friends over Gourmet Hors d'Oevres and wine Reception, PEI Distillery will have samples to taste, while enjoying our Island talent. The Bluefield Jazz Band.
Feast by the Sea (7:30pm - 12am) - The highlight of the evening! Dine off the Ocean - Feast on the land! Our Chef John Pritchrd will prepare a menu that is 100% all island all local. A challenge that will be a high end culinary experience featuring the potato as the common ingredient and prepared in creative unique ways. Bar service will be available.
While enjoying your scruptious meal the Grass Mountain Hobos will entertain to make your evening complete.

Start you morning off right and let someone else cook you a proper Island breakfast. Great fundraiser for our Biathletes, funding will assist in getting our Athletes to the Canada Games as well as new equpiment for our junior Athletes the Biathlon Bears!
