Mi’kmaq People Cultural Presentation

Come join us in a journey through history, to a time when the Mi’kmaq people ruled the land now known as Prince Edward Island. Learn their native names for the island and hear their native language. Through traditional stories and demonstrations, the staff of the PEI National Park will unravel the complexities of the Mi’kmaq culture from past to present. View the artefacts that once made a culture what it was, and participate in the traditional dances of the Mi’kmaq people. This all encompassing experience tours through different areas in the PEI National Park for 1 hour and in that hour we invite you to lose yourself in the culture of this magical people.

This program will be offered at multiple PEI National Park sites at varying times throughout the season. On July 1 & 8th this event will be held at Port-La-Joye For-Amherst. For more information on the PEI National Park and/or its beaches, please visit: www.parkscanada.gc.ca/pei
